Description
FRAGMENT OF DARK Red-violet GLAZED ISLAMIC WARE. Fine, very hard light gray clay. Broken on all sides. H. pres. .036; W. pres. .045; thickness .005. Fragment is probably from the neck of a jar and shows a band of impressed floral and inscriptional ornament. On the exterior the dark red- violet glaze seems to be applied directly over the biscuit; the inside has a pale yellow to cream glaze.
