Description
Nozzle of a Roman lamp with a broad decorated rim. Very soft, fine-grained, rather pure, buff clay. No trace of varnish. w.: ca. .028 at narrowest place; max d: .045. Nozzle flat on top, sloping away at sides. Profile convex below, concave above, two parts joining at rather sharp angle. Remains of something like a herring bone pattern on rim. Dot within triangle with apex toward wick hole and two slightly curved lines on each side of triangle decorate top of nozzle. Found with pot a1063-P1877a-i and objects there recorded.
