Description
Plain moulded lamp of Hellenistic type probably earlier than Antioch Group I. End of nozzle missing. Fairly soft, fine-grained, pure, buff clay. Black-to-red varnish on interior and exterior; much worn, no gloss preserved. l. preserved: .067; dia: .051; dia. of filling hole: .016; h: .022. Rough knob on left side. Shallow ridges along upper edges of flat-topped nozzle extend in a curve down sides of a bowl. Found in Hellenistic deposit of black and red-varnished, no "Pergamene"
