H 1.763 W 1.20 Mosaic of the Seasons. "Summer." For borders see Panel A. Flesh parts of personification modelled like those of "Spring" but general tone of torso is ruddier, with broader pink area and shadow at waist a brownish violet; hair, light and dark violet, dark red, and brown shaded in light brownish grey and dark grey. Wings in greys with white highlights. Wheat stalks in greys, light and dark violet, and brown limestone, and light green and yellow-green glass; blades of wheat brown, modelled with very dark grey and yellow limestone, ivory white and white glass. Scythe: blade in two shades of light grey; handle, yellow and brown. Mantle, greyish pink limestone with streaks of orange glass and pinkish white limestone highlights; shadows in red glass, dark violet, dark red, and dark violet-red limestone; border at hem, light blue and emerald green glass and very dark grey limestone. Cast shadows, light grey.
