Description
Corinthian capital. Broken into many pieces that fit. White marble with blue-gray veins.
Two rows of ac. leav. Six at base and eighth for second row so that two sides have their acanthus leaves of both rows falling on same axis. Rather [squatly?] leaves with a heavy turn down. Cap is too short for its lower and upper dimensions. Abacus not cleanly defined, and of irregular height. ([?] A297 which is exactly alike)
Cap is cut across plane of grains.
Circular dowel hole on bottom c. 0.04 to receive square nail. Flat carving of leaves on bell of cap, which is not marked at all.
Irregular height of abacus.
