Description
Marble Base of Column. Of coarse white marble crudely cut. One side is unfinished and was here engaged. Chipped.

Resting on a squared slab (t .045) the first round moulding curves in with a ledge and then in again to d .177; then curving out to a ledge and followed by a rounded moulding it joins or did join the body of the column.
The base is cut (r. picked) on the back flush with [cut?] upper trims thus having actually, a rectangular form at the base. Most probably it was used for an end colonnette. Chipped on sides.
Total height 0.144.
height of plinth 0.046
Underside of plinth is smooth finished and has a fine incised cross line. Top is partly r. picked.
