Description
Greyish white marble.(a) W. of face 0.37 m. th. at bottom edge as shown 0.13 m.
th. at top 0.118 m. The back is rough-picked ad has been worn by re-use as a step. There is a small, drilled hole. 0.005 m. in diameter, in the bottom 0.09 m. away from face.
(b) A fragment from the upper edge, along which is shallow groove 0.03 m. wide; the piece is broken at either end, but at the right is a cutting for a deep dowel or possibly a lifting hole;
(c) is also a fragment from the upper zone; the back is sawn smooth and the rear angle sawn off at 45 [degrees symbol], leaving a width of about 0.045 m. for the upper edge, measured back from the face;
(d) is from the lower edge of a block; the leaves run in a direction contrary to those in (a). In the fractured upper side of the fragment is a drilled hole that dos not come through to the lower surface or bed which has been worked with a coarse toothed-chisel save for a smooth band, about 0.015 , wide, next to the face; the back of this piece is sawn. Fragments e,f,g,h, and i are splinters from the upper and middle zones. None of the pieces joins.
