Description from top to bottom
The decoration scheme and form here are similar to that of fragment A104. However this is a portion of the straight part of the cornice and the cyma recta has been almost entirely demolished.
Fragment b is a modillion which joins to part a.

e) Badly broken frg. of cornice. Marble. Tongue motif is deep carving partly remains. At right [corners] and below, guilloche, in deep relief. At this level modillions project (egg and dart ends) and spaces between have rosette motif. Above tongue, bead and reel and above this rinceau - latter completely broken but outline of acanthus leaves remains.
Three eggs to side of modillion
w = 0.195 at base.
Reel length = 0.043 and has a nearly ellipsoidal outline a sign of its early date.
Beads are also well defined and are angular at ends: [sketch]
